History

The Maine Merchants Association was founded in 1933 by a group of visionary Maine businesspeople to help promote the merchants in a statewide basis and to provide a voice for the industry to our legislative leaders.

Today, the Maine Merchants Association continues to advocate on behalf of Maine's merchant community.

Located in the Maine Merchants Association building in Augusta within walking distance to the Statehouse, the Maine Merchants Association building is also home to the Maine Merchants Association Worker's Compensation Trust, the Maine Restaurant Association, the Association of Builders and Contractors (Maine), the Alliance for Maine's Future and Douglas Title Insurance Company.

Led by Curtis Picard, Executive Director, and Jim McGregor, the longtime Director of Government Affairs for Maine Merchants, your association is ready to help serve you.
